In 2014, Venezuela and China established a comprehensive strategic partnership. Four years later, Venezuela and China signed a memorandum of understanding on jointly building the the Belt and Road.

Maduro: As part of the the Belt and Road Initiative, we are currently discussing the establishment of new cooperation projects within this framework, including trade, industry, agriculture and energy projects. We are preparing for the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to enter a new stage of growth. I am eager to go to China to sign various agreements.

During the epidemic, China provided more than 2 billion doses of vaccines to more than 120 countries and international institutions, including Venezuela.

Maduro: I think this is a model of cooperation. The Venezuelan people are very grateful to Chinese scientists and doctors, and to Chinese enterprises for their support that Venezuela cannot obtain elsewhere. Many Venezuelans have been vaccinated with the Chinese vaccine and have been protected. The effect is very good. We are deeply grateful for this.Editor/Ma Xue
