On January 11, 2023, the opening ceremony of the expansion project of Hainan Yangpu Regional International Container Hub Port was held at Yangpu International Container Terminal, marking the official entry of the project into the construction phase.

It is understood that the estimated investment of the expansion project will reach 10.3 billion yuan. Four 200000 tonnage and one 150000 tonnage container berths will be built. The gravity caisson structure will be used for construction. The total land area will reach 2.1 million square meters, and the corresponding container yard will be built. After completion, the shoreline of Yangpu International Container Terminal will be 3.2 kilometers long, and the annual container throughput will reach 5.5 million TEUs. At that time, the annual container throughput of Yangpu Port will exceed 7 million TEUs.

In the future, COSCO Shipping Group will take the Yangpu regional international container hub port as the fulcrum, link the whole system route resources, increase the investment in Hainan's logistics industry, and make due contributions to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and the construction of a new pattern of convenient transportation, efficient logistics, convenient trade, and regional integration and development, as well as to build an important opening door for the Pacific and Indian Ocean in the new era.Editor/Ma Xue
