On January 11, 2023, the Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform Commission formally approved the "Feasibility Study Report on the Suburban Railway Chongqing Central City-Yongchuan Line Project" and "The Suburban Railway Chongqing Central City-Nanchuan Line Project Feasibility Study Report". The project is expected to officially start construction within 2023, with a planned construction period of 5 years.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Chongqing plans to build four urban railways from the central city to the Yongchuan Line, Nanchuan Line, Dazu Line, and Qiwan Line. The total length is about 279km, and the direct project investment is about 65.5 billion yuan. The overview of each line is as follows:

Bishan-Dazu Line (C3 Line): From the Bishan Daishan Avenue Station of the Bitong Line, through Bishan and Tongliang to Dazu, the total length of the line is about 56 kilometers, and the direct project investment is about 11.4 billion yuan;

Central City to Yongchuan Line (C4 Line): From the central urban area of Chongqing to Yongchuan District via Bishan, the total length is about 70 kilometers, and the direct project investment is about 19.3 billion yuan;

Central City to Qijiang-Wansheng Line (C5 Line): From the central city of Chongqing to Wansheng via Qijiang, the total length of the line is about 79 kilometers, and the direct project investment is about 19.2 billion yuan;

Central City to Nanchuan Line (C6 Line): From the central city of Chongqing via Ersheng, Lixiang Lake, and Daguan to Nanchuan City, the total length of the line is about 74 kilometers, and the direct project investment is about 15.6 billion yuan.

Suburban Railway Yongchuan Line

The Suburban Railway Chongqing Central City-Yongchuan Line Project has been included in the "Multi-level Rail Transit Planning for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle". The implementation of the project will support the construction of Chongqing Science City in the west, promote the integration of Bishan and Yongchuan, and promote the integration of the main urban area It is of great significance to promote high-quality development. After research, it is agreed to implement the Suburban Railway Chongqing Center City to Yongchuan Line Project.

Main construction content and technical standards

Main construction content. The project starts from Yongchuan West Station in Yongchuan District in the west, passes through Yongchuan District, Chenshi, Daan, Dingjia, Laifeng, Qinggang in Bishan District, Jinfeng and Baishiyi in Chongqing High-tech Zone, and reaches Chongqing West Station in Shapingba District in the east . The total length of the line is 70.26 kilometers, of which the underground line is 35.36 kilometers long, the elevated line is 29.58 kilometers long, and the ground line is 5.32 kilometers long; there are 17 stations in total, 15 newly built stations and 2 reserved stations; 7 underground stations are newly built in this phase , 1 ground station and 7 elevated stations. There are Jinfeng Depot and Chenshi Parking Lot; there are 3 main substations in Jinfeng, Laifeng and Chenshi. The total investment of the project is 29.247 billion yuan, of which: the construction cost is 19.328 billion yuan.

main technical standards. Number of main lines: double lines, using the right-hand traffic system. Design speed: 140 km/h. Vehicle: Model D in the city area. Power supply system: AC25kV catenary power supply is adopted. Traffic organization: 4-vehicle formation will be used in the initial stage, with 22 trains/88 vehicles; in the short term and long-term, a 4-vehicle formation/6-vehicle formation mixed operation mode will be adopted.

Suburban Railway Nanchuan Line

The Suburban Railway Chongqing Central City-Nanchuan Line has been included in the "Multi-level Rail Transit Planning for the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle". Integrated high-quality development is of great significance. After research, it is agreed to implement the Chongqing Central City to Nanchuan Line Project.

Main construction content and technical standards

Main construction content. The project starts from Huimin Station of Metro Line 27 in the west, passes through Ersheng, Dongquan Hot Spring, Lixiang Lake, Daguan, Nanchuan City and other areas, and ends at Jinfoshan Station. The total length of the line is 74.2 kilometers, of which the underground line is 40.29 kilometers long, the elevated line is 24.96 kilometers long, and the ground line is 8.95 kilometers long. There are 7 stations, including 3 elevated stations, 1 underground station and 3 ground stations. Set up Nanchuan Depot and Chongqing East Depot (co-located with Chongqing East Depot of Line 27); newly set up two main substations in Lixianghu and Nanchuan, sharing Chongqing East Main Substation with Line 27. The total investment of the project is 23.319 billion yuan, of which the construction cost is 15.651 billion yuan.
