On January 16, 2023, Foreign Minister Qin Gang concluded his visit to Africa. Liu Yuxi, the Special Representative of the Chinese Government for African Affairs, said that developing solidarity and cooperation with African countries is China's long-term and firm strategic choice, and China-Africa relations have entered a new era of building a high-level China-Africa community of shared destiny.

From January 9 to 16, 2023, Qin Gang was invited to visit the five African countries, the headquarters of the African Union and the headquarters of the Arab League, to renew friendship and seek cooperation with African leaders and foreign ministers, to witness the signing of a series of important cooperation agreements, and to attend the completion ceremony of the headquarters project of the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which was built with Chinese assistance, and so on.

Liu Yuxi stressed that China's provision of financing and technical support for the economic and social development of Africa is a sincere and transparent cooperation, and is by no means a so-called trap hyped by some western media and politicians. China's investment and financing cooperation with Africa has brought benefits to African people, not traps. The fundamental way to solve Africa's debt problem is to improve Africa's hematopoietic capacity for independent and sustainable development. I believe that with the acceleration of the integration construction such as the African Free Trade Area, the development potential of Africa's labor force, market and resources will be further released and the momentum of sustainable economic development will be shown. China will also continue to respect the wishes of the African people, based on Africa's actual needs, bring tangible benefits to the African people through China-Africa cooperation, and achieve better and faster common development.Editor/Ma Xue
