On January 19, 2023, the Miluo Yuchi pumped storage power plant in Hunan Province was approved by the provincial Development and Reform Commission, and construction can begin. Miluo Yuchi pumped storage power Station project in Hunan Province is a major energy project promoted by Hunan Provincial Committee, provincial government, Yueyang Municipal Committee and municipal government, which is listed as the key implementation project of Hunan Province pumped storage Plan "14th Five-Year Plan". It is reported that the project has successfully passed the feasibility study report in November 2022, and the construction can be officially started after the project approval.

The project is located in Miluo City Chuanshanping town, planning and design of the total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, the total storage capacity of 15 million square, the total investment of 8.104 billion yuan, completed and put into operation after the annual tax of nearly 200 million yuan, can undertake Hunan power system peak adjustment, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation and emergency backup tasks.
