Ma Haijun, the construction director of the B4 section of the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project, said that we should have the conditions for trial water supply in October 2023, and the water supply should be officially opened in December.

Project overview

The Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project is a landmark project among 172 major water conservancy projects for water-saving and water supply determined by the State Council, and is a national major water conservancy project and a backbone project of the national water network that has been included in the 14th Five-Year Plan and the Outline of the Development Plan for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area. Since the project was fully started on May 6, 2019, it has been working hard for nearly 1300 consecutive days through comprehensive launching and comprehensive excavation. In October 2022, all 48 shield water conveyance tunnels along the project will be connected. At present, the project construction has entered the stage of lining construction and water flushing. In terms of investment, up to now, the project has completed a total investment of 23.7 billion yuan, accounting for 67% of the total investment, and has overfulfilled the annual investment task for four consecutive years.Editor/Ma Xue
