Project Description

The Yaojiaping Water Conservancy Project is a control key project in the Qingjiang River Basin among the three first-class river basins in Hubei. The estimated total investment of the project is 6.7 billion yuan, and the total construction period is 96 months. After the completion of the project, it will be operated in conjunction with the Dalongtan Reservoir built downstream, which can effectively control floods, reduce flood peaks, and increase the flood control standard in the urban area of Enshi City to once in 50 years; it can also use hydropower resources to generate electricity and provide clean water to the power grid. Energy, the annual power generation capacity of the project is 513 million kwh, and the average power generation benefit for many years is about 200 million yuan. The construction of the project is of great significance for keeping the bottom line of flood control safety in the Qingjiang River Basin, enhancing the ability to allocate water resources, coordinating the simultaneous development of the four modernizations, promoting sustainable regional economic and social development, and consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation in ethnic minority areas.
