Qi Fengran, deputy general manager of the joint venture project department of the Serbian section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway, is responsible for production and construction, external coordination and material management, and has been working on the project since 2018. In 2022, the project has made great progress. The Benoy section not only opened to traffic smoothly, but also passed the certification of the European Union's railway interconnection technical specifications, marking the first time that China's railway technical equipment has been docked with the European Union's technical specifications for railway interconnection. Talking about the plan for the new year, Qi Fengran is full of confidence. He will apply the successful experience of the Benoy section to the Nuosu section, and contribute to the early opening to traffic and the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road between China and Serbia.

On the occasion of the Spring Festival, Serbian President Vucic came to inspect the construction site and exchanged New Year greetings with the staff of the project department. Vucic thanked the builders of Serbia and China for their efforts to speed up the construction of the project, and was proud of the progress made so far. He said that thanks to the cooperation idea put forward by China, the construction of the Hungary-Serbia Railway has become a part of Serbia's modernization drive, which is crucial to promoting the development of northern Serbia, tourism development along the line and attracting investment.

Milan, the Serbian translator of the project department, said that the arrival of President Vucic shows that the country attaches great importance to the project. Now everyone is working hard to speed up the construction of the project. While expressing Spring Festival blessings to Chinese colleagues, Milan also expressed his New Year wishes. His hometown is a small town along the Nuosu section, where a station will be set up after the railway is completed. I hope to take my Chinese friends home on the brand new railway and spend the New Year there together.

Duan Wei, deputy chief engineer of the project department, has spent five consecutive Spring Festivals in the local area. He said that although he cannot reunite with his family, it is meaningful to celebrate the New Year with his colleagues at work.

When visiting the construction site of the Novi Sad-Subotica section of the Hungarian-Serbian Railway, Serbian President Vucic said that the progress of the project is faster than the scheduled date. The Chinese contractor is speeding up the construction progress on the basis of ensuring the quality of the project. It is believed that the section of the road will be completed ahead of schedule. For this reason, the Serbian side is particularly grateful for the great contributions made by Chinese enterprises to the construction of Serbia. On the occasion of the Orthodox New Year and the Chinese Spring Festival, I would like to extend my holiday greetings to the Chinese workers in Serbia and the builders of various industries in Serbia.

Vucic said that this section of the road is very important to the economy of northern Serbia and the development of tourism in the areas along the route. Serbia's early railways were built between 1884 and 1976, when the last Belgrade-Bar railway was built. During the 36 years from 1976 to 2012, Serbia did not build a single railway, but only rebuilt 31 kilometers. In the past 10 years, that is, the Kadima Party, which is chaired by Vučić, has been in power. The Serbian government has built 108.1 kilometers of modern railways and renovated 781.5 kilometers of railways. It is expected that Serbia will complete another 156 kilometers, and more than 2,026 kilometers of railway construction and reconstruction are planned.
