Recently, the first Tongli TLD125 wide-body mining truck equipped with Yuchai K16 engine was tested in the Qamdo mining area in Tibet at an altitude of 5,000 meters.

In order to test the performance of the vehicle in all aspects, the mining area arranged for mining truck drivers with 10 years of driving experience to conduct driving tests. In order to ensure the optimal performance of the vehicle, Yuchai Tongji Power R&D Institute arranged for engineers to track and calibrate the test throughout the process. Combined with the special climate in Tibet, engineers successively carried out a series of tests such as heavy-duty long uphill power, fuel consumption detection, plateau cold start function, and the stability of complex road driving.

After more than 300 hours of tracking and use, the power of the vehicle was running normally, which won unanimous praise from the driver of the vehicle, Master Ma, who highly praised Yuchai for its strong power, compared with other vehicles, lower fuel consumption and better cold start.

The plateau mining area trial passed smoothly, laying a good foundation for the subsequent rapid increase of K16, and new breakthroughs are expected to be achieved in 2023. Editor / Zhao E
