From February 16th to 18th, 2023, the pre-feasibility study report review meeting of Daping Pumped Storage Power Station in Xinxian County, Henan Province was successfully held in Xinyang. It marks a key step in the preliminary work of the Xinxian Daping pumped storage project, and has laid a solid foundation for the development of various tasks in the subsequent feasibility study stage, project approval and construction.

Before the meeting, the expert group listened to the introduction of the geographical location of the upper and lower reservoir dams, the capacity of the reservoir, and the water outlet, etc., surveyed the geological conditions on the spot, scientifically compared and selected the reservoir site, and fully understood the basic conditions for the construction of the power station.

Daping Pumped Storage Power Station in Xinxian County is a reserve project for the development plan of pumped storage. The site of the project is located in Tianpu Township, Xinxian County, Xinyang City, Henan Province. The initial installed capacity is 2.1 million kilowatts, and the estimated total investment is 12 billion yuan. After the power station is completed, it will mainly supply power to the Henan Power Grid, and undertake tasks such as peak regulation, valley filling, energy storage, frequency modulation, phase modulation, and emergency backup.
