According to reports, the S1 line adopts city-area B-type vehicles with a design speed of 120km/h. The line starts at Shushan Industrial Park Station in Shou County and ends at Wulidun Station in Hefei. The total length of the line is 47.5km, with 14 designed stations. The main line of the Shouxian section is about 11.04km long, the elevated section is 8.04km, and the underground section is 2.4km. There are 2 stations, both of which are elevated stations, and a Shouxian parking lot. The total investment of the project is 4.013 billion yuan.

Hefei Xinqiao Airport Line S1 is the first urban (suburban) railway project in Hefei.
