Azule Energy and its partners in Block 15/06 have awarded contracts worth around US$7.8 billion to develop the Agogo Integrated Western Hub development offshore Angola. Malaysian infrastructure company Yinson has been awarded the contract to provide FPSO and on-site operations and maintenance services.
US-based oil commercial company Baker Hughes has been contracted to provide subsea production systems and after-sales services for the project. The company will provide 23 standard subsea trees, 11 Aptara manifolds, SemStar5 fiber optic control and related systems, and after-sales support services.
Azule has a contract with Norwegian engineering firm Aker Solutions for the supply of the umbilical system and Saipem for the transportation and installation of the rigid pipeline and subsea structure. Aker will deliver an umbilical system comprising approximately 36 kilometers of dynamic and static subsea production control umbilicals, as well as ancillary equipment and services.
Additionally, UK-based Subsea 7 was awarded the riser, flowline and subsea structure contract, and TechnipFMC was awarded the riser and flowline contract.
Adriano Mongini, chief executive of Azule Energy, said that the signing of these contracts marks the start of a new wave of major investments in Angola's deep sea, which will bring significant activity value to the country's oil and gas sector. The project will also make an important contribution to increasing the country's oil production.
The support provided by the Angolan Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, as well as the national concessionaire, was crucial to the completion of this new integrated development. The Agogo integrated west hub is one of the major upstream projects being developed in Angola, which will include 36 new wells, 21 production wells and 15 injection wells. The project will have a retrofit FPSO with 120,000 barrels/day of oil production capacity, 230MMSCF/day of gas injection capacity and 120,000 barrels/day of water injection capacity.
Agogo Integrated West Hub has approximately 100km of rigid pipelines, 100km of flexible pipelines and 100km of umbilicals and will produce hydrocarbons from the Agogo and Ndungu fields. The project will use the existing Ngoma FPSO and the new Agogo FPSO to be operational by mid-2026 to reach a peak production of 175,000 barrels per day.Editor/XingWentao
