According to the Guangxi Expressway Network Plan (2018-2030), Guangxi has planned a total of 13 expressways leading to the border ports connecting with Vietnam. Up to now, 5 expressways have been built, among which the Nanning-Pingxiang Youyiguan Expressway leading to Lang Son Province, Vietnam was built in 2005, and the Fangcheng-Dongxing Expressway leading to Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam was built in 2013. In 2019, the Jingxi-Longbang Expressway leading to Gaoping Province, Vietnam was completed. In 2019, the second expressway leading to Gaoping Province, Vietnam-Chongzuo-Shuikou Expressway was completed. In January 2023, the highway leading to Vietnam was completed. The second expressway in Lang Son Province - Dah Sin via Longzhou to Pingxiang Expressway.

8 expressways are under construction, namely Chongzuo to Aidian Port, Shangsi to Fangchenggang (Dongxing Port), Shangsi to Dongzhong Port, Napo to Pingmeng Port, Hena Expressway to Yuexu Port, Chongjing Expressway To Shuolong Port, Dongxing to Pingxiang and Nanning Datang to Pingxiang and other expressways.

In 2023, Guangxi will continue to increase the construction of expressways facing the ASEAN International Corridor. On the one hand, we will accelerate the construction of the project in China for the interconnection with Vietnam. Strive to build two expressways from Chongzuo to Aidian Port, Shangsi to Fangchenggang (Dongxing Port), speed up the construction of 6 expressways from Shangsi to Dongzhong Port, and Dongxing to Pingxiang, and further improve the international land passage facing ASEAN , to provide strong transportation support for promoting border trade, industrial development, and enriching the people. On the other hand, actively promote the planning and construction of the Vietnamese section of the highway connecting Vietnam and Guangxi. On the basis that the existing Hanoi-Mong Cai Expressway has been completed and opened to traffic, we will continue to promote the expressway from Zhiling County to Lang Son Friendship Port in Lang Son Province, which connects Vietnam and Guangxi, and the expressway from Chaling (Gao Binh) to Tongdang (Lang Son) ) highways and other border land passage projects, build a China-Vietnam multi-channel road network pattern, and gradually realize interconnection.
