On March 14, 2023, when attending the 2023 China-Nepal Investment and Economic and Trade Forum in Kathmandu, Nepalese Prime Minister Prachanda stated that he hopes to strengthen trade cooperation with China and attract more Chinese investment to help Nepal achieve its development goals.

Prachanda pointed out that China is Nepal's second largest trading partner and the largest source of foreign direct investment in Nepal. He said that the Nepali side believes that China's economic development achievements will provide Nepal with more opportunities, and related trade and investment will help Nepal develop and prosper.

Prachanda expressed his gratitude to China for including Nepal as a pilot country for the resumption of outbound group tourism for Chinese citizens, saying that Nepal's tourism industry has been hit hard by the new crown epidemic, and China's move will have a positive impact on Nepal's tourism industry.

Prachanda reiterated that Nepal adheres to the one-China principle, emphasizing that it is Nepal's consistent policy not to allow the use of Nepalese territory to engage in anti-China activities.
