Recently, Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-based New Materials Co., Ltd. officially started the methanol construction and installation project of the first phase of 2.6 million tons/year coal-to-olefins and supporting 400,000 tons/year implanted green hydrogen coupling olefins project.

400,000 tons of green hydrogen + 2.6 million tons of coal-to-olefins

The project is located in Tuke Industrial Park, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, with a total investment of about 47.8 billion yuan. It innovatively adopts the collaborative production process of green hydrogen and modern coal chemical industry, and builds an annual production capacity of 3 million tons of olefins, of which 400,000 tons are hydrogen production through supporting construction. An integrated demonstration project to replace coal with green hydrogen for production. The sixth branch company undertook the civil engineering and installation works of 11 sets of gasification units of the project.

The project takes Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-based New Materials Co., Ltd. as the main body, combined with the supporting construction of a wind-solar hydrogen production integration demonstration project, to achieve green electricity, green oxygen, and green hydrogen coupled carbon emission reductions based on reducing the amount of purchased methanol and stabilizing olefin production capacity. The project is planned to be completed and put into operation in 18 months. At that time, Baofeng Energy's olefin production capacity will more than double to 5.2 million tons per year, and a green hydrogen + coal-to-olefins industrial base with the world's leading single plant scale will be built.
