Project Overview

Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2 has a total length of 57.7 kilometers and 36 stations, including 9 underground stations, 27 elevated stations, one depot and one parking lot. It will be opened in two phases. The first phase is Guisha Damansara Station It is 18 kilometers long to Kampung Batu Station and has 12 stations. It has been opened to traffic on June 16, 2022. The second phase is 39.7 kilometers long from Kampung Batu Station to the terminal station Putrajaya Sentral Station, with 24 stations. opened. So far, Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2 has been fully opened. Prime Minister Anwar took a test ride on Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2 and announced that the newly opened Metro Line 2 will be open to all passengers from 15:00 on the same day and will be free until the end of March.

The track project of Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2 is the first online project of an overseas large-scale urban rail transit project undertaken by China Communications Construction as a general contractor, and it is also a strategic project for China Communications Construction to maintain its leading position in the Malaysian rail engineering market.

The scope of the track project of Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2 includes the track design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the 52.1-kilometer double track and two depots of the entire line, and is responsible for the track transportation organization of the four electric materials of the entire line, as well as the design and procurement of 6 types of maintenance vehicles.

In addition to the track engineering of the whole line, the company also undertook the construction of the Sentul West Station and the escape shaft project of the underground section of Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2, the Kuala Lumpur Hospital Station and the Interval Shield Tunnel, and the Crossover Station three tenders, including a total of 3 stations , 1 escape shaft, and 1 shield tunnel section.

The Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2, which is fully in operation, will become the north-south main artery of the rail transit network in Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas, passing through important places such as the Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers, and has 10 transfer stations, which can be connected with the Light Rapid Transit (LRT), Monorail Train (Monorail), National Railway (KTM) and Airport Express (KLIA Express) etc. for transfer.Editor/Ma Xue
