On March 18, 2023, Inner Mongolia Energy Group held a centralized commencement ceremony for major projects in the spring of 2023. The commencement ceremony for the 1 million kilowatt optical storage+ecological governance project of Inner Mongolia Energy Group Bayannur Mengneng Energy Co., Ltd. was held in the Dengkou project area. The Bayannur 1 million kilowatt optical storage+ecological governance project of Inner Mongolia Energy Group is one of them, and the Bayannur branch venue is located in Dengkou County. The opening ceremony of the branch venue will be held in a centralized and unified manner by connecting to the main venue via live video.

Inner Mongolia Energy Group Co., Ltd. was formed in September 2021 through the reorganization and integration of the original Mengneng Group and Nengjian Group in accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the Party Committee and the government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. With a registered capital of 13 billion yuan, it currently has over 10000 employees and a total asset of 69.506 billion yuan. It is a pilot enterprise of the state-owned capital investment company in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It has a Grade A qualification for electric power survey and design, a Special Grade qualification for general contracting of electric power engineering construction, and the ability to construct and operate the entire industrial chain of electric power engineering planning, design, consulting, construction, supervision, commissioning, and operation and maintenance. In 2022, it leapt to the third place among large enterprises in the region and ranked first in terms of growth rate.The owner of the 850000 kilowatt optical storage+ecological governance project in Dengkou County is Inner Mongolia Bayannur Mengneng Energy Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 4.89 billion yuan.

Dengkou County has sufficient sunlight and is a key area planned by the autonomous region to develop the photovoltaic new energy industry. The annual sunshine duration is over 3300 hours, and the total annual radiation amount is about 6400 megajoules per square meter. Currently, there are over 800000 mu of sandy land available for the development of new energy in the Ulanbuhe sandy area, with a exploitable amount of over 24 million kilowatts. Up to now, Dengkou County has attracted 13 photovoltaic enterprises such as National Energy Corporation, National Power Investment Corporation, and National Power Corporation to settle in Dengkou, and the installed capacity of new energy in the county has reached 770000 kilowatts. Jinniu Coal Power 140000kW Flexible Transformation Project is scheduled to commence at the end of March, and the Ulanbuhe Desert New Energy Base Project is expected to be approved in the near future. It is expected that by the end of the 14th Five Year Plan, the installed capacity of new energy in Dengkou County will reach over 12 million kilowatts.

This centralized commencement involves six new energy projects and two ultra supercritical thermal power projects, with a total installed capacity of 10.7 million kilowatts and a total investment of 50.6 billion yuan. The installed capacity is equivalent to rebuilding an energy group, creating a historical record of the largest one-time construction scale and largest investment amount of state-owned enterprises affiliated to the autonomous region, fully reflecting the confidence and determination of the autonomous region to develop and expand state-owned enterprises affiliated to the autonomous region.
