Project Overview

The Yunfu Shuiyuanshan Pumped Storage Power Station in Guangdong Province is a key start-up project of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the development of pumped storage in Guangdong Province. The power station is located in Taiping Town, Xinxing County, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province, with straight-line distances of 48km and 118km from Yunfu City and Guangzhou City, respectively. The installed capacity of this project is 1200MW, and its installed capacity is determined as a Type I (1) project. Install 4 reversible pump-turbine units with a single unit capacity of 300MW, with a designed annual power generation of 17.3MWh and a designed annual pumping power consumption of 23.1MWh.

After the completion of the power station, a total of 500kV outgoing lines will be connected to the 500kV Wuyi Station to connect to the Guangdong Provincial Power System, and it will undertake system peak regulation, valley filling, frequency regulation, phase regulation, load backup and emergency backup in the system.
