At present, the project is operating safely and stably, and it has continuously set new highs in power generation performance .

Basentha Raj Puri spoke highly of the safe production and operation of the Shangmasangdi project. He said that the Shangmasangdi project helped Nepal solve the problem of electricity consumption, provided employment opportunities for the local area, and injected vitality into the local economic development. The Lamb County Government will continue to support the project and hopes that the two sides will cooperate and help each other for mutual benefit and win-win results.

The Shangmasangdi project is the first hydropower station project in Nepal invested and constructed by a Chinese-funded enterprise. The installed capacity of the project is 50MW, and the annual contracted power generation capacity is 317 million kWh. The project entered commercial operation on January 1, 2017, and the cumulative power generation has exceeded 2.1 billion kWh so far.

The successful development and lean operation of the project have won unanimous praise from the host country government and society, and have been commended by the Nepalese government many times.
