On March 23, 2023, the first pile of Guanghua Road Station of Shijiazhuang Metro Line 5 Phase I project undertaken by China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau was successfully drilled, ushering in the first important construction node-the first pile foundation was laid on the whole line, marking With the project kicked off the main structure of the prelude to construction.

The first phase of Shijiazhuang Urban Rail Transit Line 5 starts from Gongbei Road Station and ends at Tangu North Street Station. It is laid along Hongqi Street and Youyi Street in the north-south direction. After connecting Shijiazhuang North Station, it runs along Shizhuang Road and Guanghua Road. It is laid in east-west direction, with a total length of about 19.9 kilometers, all of which are underground lines. There are 18 stations, including 6 transfer stations. The Gongjiazhuang vehicle base and the Hongqi main substation will be newly built. The total investment of the project is 17.07 billion yuan.

The China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau undertook the construction tasks of 2 stations and 2 sections, namely Tangu North Street Station, Guanghua Road Station, Tiyu North Street Station-Guanghua Road Station Section, and Guanghua Road Station-Tanggu North Street Station Section. Among them, Guanghua Road Station is located at the intersection of Jianhua North Street and Guanghua Road. It is a T-shaped transfer station for Lines 4 and 5. The station of Line 5 is arranged along the east-west direction of Guanghua Road. It is a 14-meter island-style station with three floors underground , with a total length of 175.5 meters; the station of Line 4 has a total length of 267 meters, and the main body of the station is constructed by the open-cut method.

In order to ensure the smooth drilling of the first pile, the project team actively coordinated and cooperated with all relevant units to overcome various difficulties such as equipment entry and greening migration in the early stage, and created good conditions for on-site construction; technical personnel carefully prepared the construction plan, management personnel and The construction personnel conducted safety and technical disclosure, and arranged the site in strict accordance with standardized requirements, laying the foundation for smooth drilling.

The first phase project of Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Line 5 is interlocked with Line 4, filling the vacancy in the rail transit network in the western and northern areas of the provincial capital, and improving the level of the rail transit network. After completion, it will further optimize the urban spatial structure, promote coordinated regional development, improve the quality of urban functions, refresh the travel happiness index of the people, and help improve the energy level and comprehensive carrying capacity of urban development.
