During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China has planned five 10 million-kilowatt offshore bases, and the scale of offshore wind power development plans issued by various regions has reached 80 million kilowatts, which will promote the rapid development of offshore wind power. In the Bohai Bay area of Shandong Peninsula, a typhoon is spinning against the wind. The integrated offshore wind power test and demonstration offshore wind farm in Changyi Marine Ranch in Shandong Province of the Three Gorges has cumulatively generated more than 200 million kWh since 2023.

Not long ago, China's first ultra-large single-unit capacity offshore wind power project started construction in Zhangpu, Fujian. This is the country's first offshore wind farm that adopts ultra-large-capacity units in batches. In Yangjiang, Guangdong, China's first mega-kilowatt offshore wind power base - the Shapa Offshore Wind Farm is continuously providing clean electricity to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Lu Pengyuan, deputy general manager of Three Gorges Energy and a member of the party committee, said that at present, Three Gorges Energy has initially formed an offshore wind power energy corridor from Dalian, Liaoning in the north to Yangjiang, Guangdong in the south. The total installed capacity of offshore wind power has reached 4.87 million kilowatts, and the average daily power generation exceeds 35 million kilowatts. At that time, it is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 16,000 ordinary households, contributing to the promotion of green and low-carbon energy development.

The "14th Five-Year Renewable Energy Development Plan" proposes to optimize the layout of offshore wind power, carry out offshore wind power planning in deep seas, promote the large-scale development of offshore areas and the demonstration development of deep seas, and focus on the construction of Shandong Peninsula, the Yangtze River Delta, southern Fujian, eastern Guangdong, Five large offshore wind power base clusters in the Beibu Gulf.Editor/Ma Xue
