The project is scheduled to start construction in April 2023, and will be completed and opened to traffic in December 2027. The total bidding price is about 18.084 billion yuan.

Project Overview

The Wanqingsha-Xingzhong section of the Nansha-Zhuhai Zhongshan intercity railway has been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Development and Reform Commission on the construction plan of the intercity railway line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission on the new construction Approval of the construction of the feasibility study report for the Wanqingsha-Xingzhong section of the Nansha-Zhuhai-Zhongshan intercity railway project. The construction units are Guangzhou Metro Group Co., Ltd. and Zhongshan Rail Transit Co., Ltd.

The line starts from Wanqingsha Station, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, and ends at Xingzhong Station, Zhongshan City. The new line is 47.6 kilometers long, including 19.1 kilometers in Guangzhou and 28.5 kilometers in Zhongshan. The line is reserved for extending from Xiangshan Station to Zhuhai, and the reserved project from Xiangshan Station to Zhuhai will be implemented simultaneously.

Simultaneous construction projects include: Nansha large-scale urban complex reserved projects related to this project and Nansha large-scale urban complex supporting municipal projects. If the simultaneous construction project does not obtain written opinions from relevant government departments, the construction scope will be adjusted accordingly.
