The upper reservoir is located in Dayushugou on the left bank of the Huangyang River Canyon, and the lower reservoir is located in the Huangyang River Canyon. The Gansu Huangyang Pumped Storage Project is the fifth pumped storage project in Gansu Province, with a total investment of 11 billion yuan and an installed capacity of 1.4 million kilowatts. The planned construction period is 72 months. It is expected that the first unit will be put into operation in 2029, and all units will be put into operation in 2030. The designed annual power generation capacity is 1.6 billion kwh. It is a key implementation project of the 14th Five-Year Plan of the country.
