On March 29, 2023, Wang Tongzhou, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CCCC, met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar in Hainan. The two sides held discussions and exchanges on further deepening cooperation in the field of large transportation and large cities.

Anwar expressed appreciation for CCCC's development achievements in Malaysia. He said that CCCC is deeply involved in Malaysia's transportation infrastructure construction and comprehensive urban development. The East Coast Railway project currently under construction will greatly promote the development of eastern Malaysia. It is also an important witness of the cooperation and mutual trust between Malaysia and China. Friendly development has played an important role. In recent years, Malaysia's economy has developed well and its market prospects are broad. Wang Tongzhou thanked the Malaysian government for its long-term care and support to CCCC, and introduced CCCC and its business development in Malaysia. He said that in recent years, CCCC has focused on large transportation and large cities, giving full play to its advantages in internationalization, rivers, lakes and seas, and accelerated the construction of a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness in terms of technology, management and quality. CCCC has been deeply involved in Malaysia for more than 30 years and has created a number of landmark projects. Especially in March 2023, Prime Minister Anwar attended the opening ceremony of Kuala Lumpur Metro Line 2 and gave CCCC great support and encouragement.
