Recently, the construction of the Sanba Reservoir Project in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province officially started.

The Sanba Reservoir is located on the Qijiang River, a tributary of the Nanhe River in the Minjiang River Basin. The dam site is located in Xinchang Town, Dayi County. The project tasks are mainly urban and rural water supply, flood control, and comprehensive utilization such as irrigation and power generation. It is known as the third water source of Chengdu. project. It is understood that the Sanba Reservoir has been included in China's "14th Five-Year Water Safety Guarantee Plan". It is one of the major water conservancy projects in China that will be promoted by the Ministry of Water Resources in 2023 and one of the six major water conservancy projects that will be promoted by Sichuan Province.

The scale of the Sanba Reservoir project is a large (2) type reservoir. According to the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission on the feasibility study report, the normal storage level of the reservoir is 691 meters, the total storage capacity is 161 million cubic meters, and the total construction period is 54 months (excluding the construction period) ), the total project investment is 4.62 billion yuan.

The relevant person in charge of the Chengdu Municipal Water Affairs Bureau stated that after the completion of the Sanba Reservoir Project, it will form the three major water supply bases in Chengdu together with the Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project and the Lijiayan Reservoir.
