Recently, the expansion project of Israel's No. 2 Highway, jointly undertaken by China Electric Power Construction Corporation and Israel Ramat Company, achieved the opening of the main line one year ahead of the contract period. The total length of this section is 13.5 kilometers, expanded from 4 lanes in both directions to 6 lanes, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. It is jointly implemented by the China Electric Power Construction Corporation's Hydroelectric Bureau 5 and the East China Institute of Engineering. It includes all bridges, connecting bridge ramps, animal passages, drainage facilities, as well as concrete works such as sound insulation walls and retaining walls.

Among them, the construction of comprehensive retaining walls and sound barrier walls for the curved pedestrian overpass and roads on both sides of the bridge in the Nurem section is the biggest challenge before achieving the goal of opening to traffic. The project department should ensure the smooth construction of the pedestrian overpass while also ensuring that the huge traffic flow between the two cities below is not affected.

In order to ensure the smooth performance of the project, the project department has set the goal of tackling difficulties, changing the construction plan from a weekly plan to a daily plan, and moving the office area to the construction site. After 35 months of hard work, it finally achieved the opening goal one year ahead of schedule, marking the first entry of China Electric Power Construction into the Israeli highway infrastructure construction field and delivering a high-quality answer to the local construction market.

Israel is the only developed country in the Middle East region. Since entering the country's market in 2017, China Electric Power Construction Corporation has undertaken three projects, including the Kqaf Hayarden Pumped Storage Power Station, the expansion of Highway 2, the Green Line Light Rail Bridge, and stations. Among them, the Kekafhayarden pumped storage power station project is the first overseas pumped storage project of a Chinese enterprise, which has important demonstration and driving significance; The Tel Aviv Green Line Light Rail Project is the first infrastructure project independently organized and constructed by a Chinese enterprise in Israel, and has introduced advanced equipment and technology such as large-diameter pile drilling and installation from China for the first time.Editor/Ma Xue
