The supporting power supply project of Jiangdian into Chongqing is located in Balikun County and Yiwu County of Hami City, with a coal-fired power installed capacity of 4 million kilowatts. After the completion of the project, it will promote the efficient development and utilization of clean energy in Xinjiang, ensure the continuous and stable supply of power in Chongqing in the future, implement the national strategy of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and provide strong power support for the joint construction of a modernized new Chongqing.

Among the supporting power supply projects of Xinjiang Power entering Chongqing, the 2×1000MW coal power project led by Chongqing Energy Group was approved in September 2022, and the temporary construction project started in the same month.
