Recently, the Phase IV expansion project of Zheneng Jiaxing Power Plant was officially approved by Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission.

According to reports, the static investment of this project is about 7.7 billion yuan, and two new 1 million-kilowatt coal-fired power units will be built. It is a major construction project during the 14th Five-Year Plan period of Zhejiang Province.

The project is a green and low-carbon development of energy in Zhejiang Province and a project to ensure supply and price stability, and to expand the effective investment of thousands of trillions of projects. It is planned to use the existing land of Jiaxing Power Plant to build two ultra-supercritical units with an installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts. The standard coal consumption of designed power generation is greatly reduced compared with conventional units. After the project is approved, it will quickly enter the project construction stage. After it is completed and put into operation, it will further guarantee the power demand of our province and promote the sustainable economic and social development.

Zheneng Jiaxing Power Plant is located in Liuli Bay, Zhapu Town, Pinghu City, Zhejiang Province, on the north shore of Hangzhou Bay. Since its establishment in 1994, it has successively built 2 sets of 300,000 kilowatts in the first phase, 4 sets of 600,000 kilowatts in the second phase, and 2 sets in the third phase. The 1,000,000-kilowatt coal-fired power unit is a national key construction project during the Eighth Five-Year Plan, the Tenth Five-Year Plan, and the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. After the capacity increase and transformation of the unit, the existing installed capacity of the whole plant is 5.3 million kilowatts, ranking among the forefront of the installed capacity of thermal power plants in China.
