On April 11, 2023 local time, the groundbreaking ceremony of the 2×64.2 MW photovoltaic project in Tanauan and Malagon East in the Philippines undertaken by PowerChina was held. Yang Guoliang, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, Remula, Governor of Cavite Province, and Mandanas, Governor of Batangas Province attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Aka, the mayor of Malagon East City, the Philippines, and Krantes, the representative of the mayor of Tanawan, Katrina Razon, the president of Tanawan Solar, the owner, and Hu Xinquan, president of the Chinese Enterprises (Philippines) Association, Power China Philippine country representative Zhao Zhihao attended the groundbreaking ceremony.


In his speech, Yang Guoliang congratulated the start of the project. He pointed out that the natural environment of the Philippines is full of sunlight and has great potential for new energy development. The rational development of photovoltaic energy can not only alleviate the local electricity shortage, promote green and low-carbon transformation, but also drive local employment, with both economic and social benefits. It is hoped that PowerChina will give full play to its own advantages, complete the construction of the T&M photovoltaic project with high quality and efficiency, and benefit the Filipino people as soon as possible.
Governor Remula and Governor Mandanas pointed out in their speeches that electricity is the foundation of people's livelihood, the foundation of development, and the source of prosperity. It is hoped that PowerChina will make full use of Chinese management, Chinese technology and Chinese experience to contribute to the development of green energy in the Philippines. It is expected that more cooperation results between the two parties will better benefit the local people, promote local economic and social development, and jointly build a green future for mankind.
The T&M Photovoltaic Project is located in the southern part of Luzon Island, Philippines. It is designed to include two 64MW photovoltaic power stations, covering an area of 982.5 mu and 951 mu respectively. After the project is completed, it is estimated that the average annual power generation will be 9.744 million kWh, which can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 97,000 tons per year, which will help improve the regional energy structure, promote the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, and achieve green and healthy development. The successful start of the project has further consolidated PowerChina's share and position in the Philippine new energy market, and laid the foundation for further win-win cooperation between the two parties.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, the project department organized a donation activity to Pantehan 2 Primary School in Malagon East City, Cavite Province. Yang Guoliang expressed his appreciation for Power China's active fulfillment of social responsibilities, and encouraged the students to study hard, achieve success in their studies, and contribute to the friendship between the Chinese and Philippine people when they grow up. During the event, PowerChina donated a total of 150,000 pesos worth of stationery and teaching supplies. The teachers and students of the school expressed their gratitude with the passionate Philippine folk dance "Hula Dance".
