Shanghai Baoye won the bid for Indonesian OBI lime production line project

On April 17, 2023, Shanghai Baoye won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of Indonesia OBI 1 million tons of annual lime production line. The project is located in the west of Obi Island (OBI), North Maluku Province, Indonesia, and belongs to the mining area of KAWASI Village, Obi Town, South Halmahera County, North Maluku Province, Indonesia. The company jointly invests in the construction, and its main contents include the construction of five new 600t/day lime kiln production line process facilities and supporting gas pressurization stations, coal powder preparation systems and coal powder injection conveying systems, air-pressed nitrogen devices, water circulation systems, etc. Lime production line with an annual output of 1 million tons.

This project is another major overseas project undertaken by Shanghai Baoye relying on the good reputation and brand image of overseas projects under construction after winning the bid for the second phase of the RKEF project in Indonesia's OBI nickel-iron project in 2022. The successful bidding of this project is the result of Shanghai Baoye's long-term hard work, dedicated management, solid practice of the overseas strategy, and firm implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, which strongly demonstrates the comprehensive strength of the metallurgical construction national team. Shanghai Baoye will uphold the quality of central enterprises and the spirit of craftsman, and form a strong project team. China Overseas Signs Nepal Power Transmission Line Project

On April 17, 2023, China Overseas Nepal Company formally signed a contract with the Nepal Electricity Authority in Kathmandu for the 132kV underground transmission line project in Prashoni-Birganj, Nepal. Wang Yushui, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of China Overseas Nepal Company, Luo Xiaorong, General Manager of China Railway Second Bureau Nepal Branch, Padam Gurung, representative of local partner KALIKA, and Laxmi Narayan Mukhiya, project manager of the owner, attended the signing ceremony.

The Prashani-Birganj 132kV underground transmission line project in Nepal is located in Birganj, an important town in southern Nepal, about 130 kilometers away from the capital Kathmandu. The main engineering content of the project includes the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a 132/33/11 kV air-insulated substation (AIS) and a 132/66 kV gas-insulated substation (GIS), as well as a 132kV underground cable between the two substations laying work. After the completion of the project, it can effectively alleviate the shortage of local electricity consumption, and play a positive role in maintaining the stability of the local power grid, promoting regional employment, and inter-regional economic communication and integration.

This is the first project that COLI won the bid in the field of power transmission and transformation in Nepal. Since receiving the contract award letter for the Prashani-Birgunj 132kV underground transmission line project in Nepal on April 2, 2023, all employees of the Nepal company have actively prepared the project signing materials, and have always maintained good communication with the owner. The signing of the contract laid a solid foundation, and at the same time further promoted the in-depth cooperation between China Overseas and the Nepal Electricity Bureau, laying a solid foundation for continuing to deepen Nepal and explore diversified development paths.Editor/Ma Xue
