Recently, the Dunhuang Municipal People's Government and Shen Chu Guoneng (Shenzhen) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement on investing in the construction of a 500MW/2500MWh compressed air energy storage demonstration project in Dunhuang.

Shen Chu Guoneng (Dunhuang) New Energy Co., Ltd. comprehensively considers the load, new energy access and construction and operation conditions of Dunhuang City, and invests in the construction of a demonstration project of a new compressed air energy storage power station with a capacity of 500MW/2500MWh, a 330KV booster station and supporting facilities . The total investment of the project is about 4.998 billion yuan, including 4.848 billion yuan in compressed air energy storage, 150 million yuan in 330KV collection stations and supporting facilities, covering a total area of 450 acres. It was put into production and put into operation a few days ago. After the project is completed, it is expected to realize an annual profit and tax of 150 million yuan.

The construction of this project is conducive to improving the power supply capacity of Dunhuang City, promoting new energy consumption, optimizing power flow distribution, accumulating experience in grid-side energy storage operation, and providing industrial steam and cold chain comprehensive energy services to Dunhuang City.
