Energy Construction International Signs Namibia Wind Power Project
NamPower signed a power purchase (PPA) and transmission connection (TCA) agreement with CERIM Lüderitz Energy (PTY) LTD to develop the 50MW Lüderitz wind farm on a build-own-operate basis, as well as the related infrastructure. The power station, which will cost about 1.4 billion Namibian dollars, is located about 16 kilometers south of the town of Lüderitz.
Under the project agreement, CERIM will be responsible for the full development of the power plant, including financing, construction, operation and maintenance, while NamPower will be the exclusive supplier of power generation for the power plant during the 25-year PPA term. NamPower and CERIM LÜDERITZ ENERGY expect that the development of the CERIM Luderitz wind farm will be completed within 27 months from the signing date of the PPA, and therefore commercial operation is expected in July 2025.

The 50 MW Lüderitz wind IPP power generation project is part of the power generation projects planned under NamPower's comprehensive strategic and business plan for 2020-2025. ISBP outlined the company's strategic priorities, which include prioritizing local renewable resources within five years (2020-2025), in line with the Ministry of Mines and Energy's decision to develop power generation capacity. The 50MW Lüderitz Wind IPP Power Generation Project will contribute to the achievement of national policy objectives such as the Integrated Resource Plan for the Namibian Power Sector, the National Energy Policy, the Renewable Energy Policy, and the Fifth National Development Plan.
The 50 MW Lüderitz wind power project will contribute to the creation of local economic jobs from semi-skilled and unskilled labor in the // Karas region.
CCCC No. 1 Public Transport Bureau won the bid for the Niger road project
Recently, China Communications First Engineering Bureau Group won the bid for the renovation and multi-year maintenance project of the second bid section of the Niger Pan-Saharan Corridor (North of National Highway No. 11) Agadez-Tijti-Agadez Zinder (171km). The total length of the project is 171 kilometers, and the main project content is the renovation of 109 kilometers of asphalt double-surface roads and the graded maintenance of 171 kilometers of asphalt roads.

The project is adjacent to the Agadez-Zinder road renovation and maintenance project that the company won in 2022. The winning of the bid means that the two districts of Zinder-Agadez in Niger will be connected The 425 kilometers of roads will all be renovated and maintained by the company.
This road is an important part of National Highway No. 11 in Niger and an important part of the Trans-Saharan Corridor International Corridor.
