The expansion project of the Xiangtan to Loudi section of the Shanghai-Kunming National Expressway is an important part of the national expressway network, and it is also an important part of the highway planning of Hunan Province. This project has been included in the provincial government's compulsory construction project in 2020, and the construction period is expected to be 3 and a half years.

The Xiangtan to Loudi project starts in Xiangtan City from Tanjiashan Town, Xiangtan County, and connects the G60 expansion project from Fuling to Xiangtan, and stops at Yutang Town, Xiangxiang City. The project passes through 9 villages and towns such as Tanjiashan, Shebu, Jinshi, Paitou, Wushi, Xiangqiao Meiqiao, Lishan, Shanzao, Yutang, etc., with a mileage of about 67km. Construction, the design speed is 120 / hour, the width of the subgrade is 34m, and there are 7 intersected three-dimensional intersections, of which there are 6 toll stations, and the average distance between the toll stations is about 8km.

The construction period of the project is expected to be three and a half years, with a total investment of about 10 billion yuan. It is a key project at the provincial and municipal levels, and also a key transportation infrastructure construction project that Xiangtan City will be included in the government work report in 2020.

After the Xianglou Expressway is opened to traffic, it will improve the congestion of the Xiangtan section of the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway in the past, and provide a way for the Xiangtan people to get out of Hunan. There is no need to change roads to Shanghai in the east and Kunming in the west. It has a certain supporting role in promoting Hunan's connection with the Yangtze River Delta economic circle, and will further improve the internal road network of Xiangtan, forming a grid of three horizontal and five vertical highways.
