Ocean Winds has taken a final investment decision on its 500MW Dieppe Le Tréport offshore wind farm in France. The 500 MW project will cost 2.7 billion euros, the company noted.
In April 2023, the company also reached an FID for its French offshore wind project Iles d'Yeu Noirmoutier and completed financing for its 882 MW offshore wind facility Moray West in Scotland, UK.
For the three projects, OW secured a total investment of EUR 7.4 billion, representing the company's capabilities and involvement in ensuring the construction, delivery and operation of offshore wind farms. OW is now ready to start construction works, meaning nearly 2GW of capacity in its portfolio is currently under construction.
Ocean Winds Chief Operating Officer Grzegorz Gorski said securing financing for three offshore wind projects this month not only demonstrates our commitment to delivering clean energy and unlocking local opportunities, but also demonstrates our solutions-driven experience and leadership in the offshore wind sector.
Despite the current challenges of the global economy, inflation and supply chain constraints, we reaffirmed our commitment to realizing the project - securing financing and demonstrating the confidence of the financial markets in the strength of our project and in us as a deliverer partner.Editor/XingWentao
