According to the approved documents, the Ministry of Transport agreed with the port coastline utilization plan proposed in the Plan, planning the port coastline of 35.97 kilometers, and 8.57 kilometers of development and utilization. The Ro-Ro-based comprehensive port area mainly serves the development of Hefei and Northwest Anhui; the Zhaoxi River Port area is mainly for bulk cargo, miscellaneous goods, and petrochemicals, mainly for the Longqiao plate of Lujiang High-tech Zone and key towns. Development services; Yuxihe Port area is mainly for bulk, general cargo and container transportation, mainly for the development of Chaohu Industrial Park; Fenglehe Port Area and Baishi Tianhe Port Area are mainly for bulk and general cargo transportation, mainly along the coast. River industrial parks and key township development services; the Huandao Port area is dominated by bulk cargo and tourist passenger transportation services, mainly providing tourism development and mineral resource development services around the Chaohu Lake.

In addition, according to the approval, it agreed with the planning and layout plan of the port and anchorage proposed in the Plan. It agrees in principle with the "Planning" analysis and forecast of arriving ship types, and the specific ship types will be further demonstrated in the preliminary work of the port construction project. In principle, the plan for the collection and distribution of highways, railways, and other transportation channels proposed in the Plan is agreed in principle. The specific construction standards for each collection and distribution channel are demonstrated and confirmed at the feasibility study stage of the construction project.

Hefei Port is a comprehensive large port with bulk cargo, container and general cargo transportation as well as tourist passenger transportation.
