On May 4, the environmental impact report form (hereinafter referred to as the "report form") of the reconstruction and expansion project of the Qingyuan Fogang to Guangzhou Taihe section of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway (hereinafter referred to as the "project") was accepted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment. It will be announced on the official website of the department. The whole line will be expanded from two-way six-lane to two-way ten-lane, and construction is expected to start on the whole line in June this year.

It is reported that the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Qingyuan Fogang to Guangzhou Taihe section is located in Guangzhou and Qingyuan. The project length is about 72.63 kilometers, the original roadbed width is 33.5 meters, the design speed is 100 kilometers per hour, and the fully enclosed six-lane expressway standard. The starting point of this reconstruction and expansion project is located at Fogang Interchange, Shijiao Town, Fogang County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, and then connects with the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway from Shaoguan Lechang to Qingyuan Fogang, and passes through Tangtang Town, Fogang County, Qingyuan City to the south. Aotou Town, Taiping Town, Conghua District, Guangzhou City, Huadong Town, Huadu District, Zhongluotan Town, Baiyun District, Dayuan Street, finally Taihe Junction Interchange, Taihe Town, Guangzhou City, intersects with the North Second Ring Expressway and connects with South China Freeway.

According to the report, the route length of the project is about 72.63 kilometers, 9 interchanges will be rebuilt and expanded, 1 Minle interchange (including Minle toll station) will be newly built, and 1 Liangtian interchange (including Liangtian toll station) will be newly built; Taihe service will be newly built. 1 area, reconstruction and expansion of 1 Wayaogang service area, reconstruction and expansion of 1 Fogang service area; reconstruction and expansion of 1 Guangshao Management Center; reconstruction and expansion of 5 toll stations; 248.05 hectares of newly acquired land for the entire line. It is estimated that the construction of the whole line will start in June 2023, and the whole line will be completed and opened to traffic in June 2027. The construction period will be 4 years.
