Recently, the feasibility study report of the newly built Shaoyang-Yongzhou high-speed railway has been jointly approved by China National Railway Group and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and the project has entered the countdown to start construction. At present, the Shaoyong High-speed Railway is stepping up the work related to the preliminary design approval, and it is expected to officially start construction within this year, with a planned construction period of 3.5 years.

Shaoyong high-speed railway

The Shaoyang-Yongzhou section of the newly-built Hunan Passage starts from Huaiheng Passenger Depot Shaoyang, passes through Daxiang District, Shaoyang County, Dong'an County, Lengshuitan District, and finally Yongzhou Station, the hub of Yongzhou. The main line length of the line is 96.14km, of which 43.42km is in Shaoyang City, 52.72km is in Yongzhou City, and the bridge-tunnel ratio is 72%.

After the line is drawn from the west end of Shaoyang Station, it occupies the existing Yizhan Line passage and travels westward, bypassing the Guihuadu first-level water source protection area, crossing the Yizhan Line, passing between Zishui and Yizhan Lines, and successively crossing the Yizhan Line , Huai-Shao-Heng Railway, G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, and 207 National Highway enter Shaoyang County, and set up Shaoyang County Station on the east side of Yizhan Line and near Yunshan Village on the west side of Erguang Expressway.

After exiting the station, cross the Erguang Expressway to the south for two times, turn again to the west side of the Erguang Expressway near Zhangjia Village, Dasheng Town, and go southeast, avoiding unfavorable geology such as strong karst development areas, passing through Banzhu Mountain in the form of a tunnel, and then successively Across the S217 Provincial Highway, Yizhan Line, and Luhong City River, along the west side of the Yongzhou North Station under construction, it leads to Yongzhou Station and newly establishes the Shaoyong Railway High-speed Depot.

There are 3 stations on the whole line, namely Shaoyang Station, Shaoyang County Station and Yongzhou Station. Among them, the newly built Shaoyang County Station is located in Yunshan Village, Tangdukou Town, Shaoyang County, next to Zhenyu Avenue. Build S223 provincial road. The reconstruction and expansion project of Yongzhou Station includes 4 units of Line 10 (including 2 main lines) at Shaoyongchang, the west station building, and 3 units of Line 5 are reserved, which will be reconstructed and expanded according to the elevated straddle station building.

The new Shaoyang-Yongzhou railway project has been included in the "Medium and Long-Term Railway Network Planning", "14th Five-Year Railway Development Plan" and the 2023 key railway project work plan of the country and Hunan Province. The project construction is of great significance to improve the regional railway network structure and promote local economic and social development.

This line is an important section of the new northward passage of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area formed with the Yongqing-Guangzhou Railway. It is for Hunan Province to give full play to the advantages of the Belt and Road Region, fully integrate into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, connect with the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, and accelerate the connection between southern Hunan and western Hunan.
