Sunshine Power has signed an agreement to provide 2.1GW of inverters for the Al Shuaibah photovoltaic project in Saudi Arabia. Once put into operation, the project will become the world's largest photovoltaic power plant.

Sunshine Power 1+X Modular Inverter Solution 2.1 GW Inverter Supply Contract signed with China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., the EPC contractor of the project. The factory is expected to start operating in 2025; Badeel, a subsidiary of the ACWA Power and Public Investment Fund, will construct, own, and operate the facility, and the Saudi Power Procurement Company will purchase the electricity produced through a power purchase agreement.
James Wu, Senior Vice President of Sunshine Power, stated: We appreciate the continued trust of China Energy International Group in delivering another outstanding project in Saudi Arabia. We will ensure its smooth delivery through reliable solutions and dedicated local services. As the Middle East and North Africa region remains one of the most dynamic renewable energy markets, Sungrow Power will continue to provide competitive products and services, contributing to the local energy transformation.
Sunshine Power stated that the 1+X modular inverter combines the advantages of string and centralized inverter technology, and can withstand the sandy, dry, windy, and hot climate conditions of the United Arab Emirates. The minimum power of a single unit of this product is 1.1MW, which can be expanded to a maximum of 8.8MW by combining 8 units together. Customers can choose and change dimensions to meet their specific project needs.
ACWA Power currently has six Saudi photovoltaic projects in operation or development. This week, it signed another agreement with Badeel to develop a 4.5GW Saudi solar product portfolio through three GW scale projects.Editor/XingWentao
