A few days ago, the Dangote Oil Refinery Project in Nigeria, which Chinese companies participated in, held an opening ceremony in Lekki District, Lagos State, southwestern Nigeria. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to end Nigeria's long-term dependence on refined oil imports.

Nigerian President Buhari said at the ceremony that the opening of the Dangote refinery is of great significance to the Nigerian economy and is expected to end Nigeria's long-term dependence on refined oil imports.

Aliko Dangote, head of Dangote Group, the project investor, introduced at the ceremony that the Dangote Oil Refinery Project has invested more than 18 billion US dollars and is designed to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. It is the largest refinery project in the world one. After the project is put into operation, it can produce products such as gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel, and the first batch of products is expected to be launched in July and August this year. After achieving full production capacity, in addition to meeting the needs of the domestic market, it can also be exported in large quantities.

Li Guobiao, Project Manager of Dangote Oil Refinery of China Chemical Engineering Seventh Construction Co., Ltd., who participated in the construction, said that several Chinese companies participated in the construction of the project, and a large amount of equipment was also imported from China.
