In recent years, with the increasing trend of global energy transformation, Kazakhstan's electricity market has also undergone tremendous changes. Under the framework of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, more and more Chinese companies are investing in the field of new energy in Kazakhstan.

With the continuous expansion of the company's business, I am honored to witness the continuous development of China's relations with Central Asian countries. A few days ago, Zhou Jiali, deputy director of the international business department of the Chinese company Mannatech Energy, said before leaving for Kazakhstan. Not long ago, he just accompanied the company leaders to complete the business negotiation during the China-Central Asia Summit.

In Kazakhstan, Mannatech Energy has been in business for more than 7 years and is now one of the largest clean energy suppliers there. In September 2019, the Kapchagai 100MW photovoltaic power plant project in Almaty State, which was connected to the grid for power generation, is the earliest photovoltaic power generation project invested and constructed by the company in Kazakhstan.

Kapchagai 100MW Photovoltaic Power Plant

According to reports, at the beginning of the project construction, Kazakhstan's electricity production was dominated by traditional coal-fired power generation, and new energy power generation accounted for less than 1%. The power shortage problem in some areas was serious, and power outages often occurred during peak power consumption periods. The 100 MW photovoltaic power plant project in Kapchagai was completed, enabling the local area to achieve a breakthrough from 0 to 1 large-scale photovoltaic power plant. Zhou Jiali said.

Today, Mantech Energy has built 6 new energy projects in Kazakhstan, with a total scale of 380 megawatts, providing a total of 1.41 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity for the local area and reducing carbon emissions by a total of 1.41 million tons. Enterprises have also created a large number of local jobs and cultivated many technical talents in the field of new energy.

In recent years, Kazakhstan's electricity market has undergone a dramatic transformation as the global energy transition trend has intensified. Under the framework of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, like Mannatech Energy, more and more Chinese companies are investing in the field of new energy in Kazakhstan. Zanatas Wind Farm, Turgusun Hydropower Station, Akmola State Wind Power Project, etc. invested and constructed by Chinese enterprises such as China Power International Co., Ltd., China Hydropower Construction Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. The new energy project will effectively help Kazakhstan transition to low-carbon.

From May 18 to 19, 2023, the China-Central Asia Summit was successfully held in Xi'an, and all parties involved agreed to deepen practical cooperation in various fields. The summit also provided a good platform for many Chinese companies to expand into the Central Asian market.

According to Nan Yi, chairman of Mannatech Energy, during the summit, the company reached a consensus on new energy cooperation with relevant parties in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, and achieved a number of important cooperation results. It is expected that China and Central Asian countries will achieve a deeper level of mutual benefit and win-win results, and join hands with global partners to contribute to the low-carbon cause of mankind. Nan Yi said.

After the China-Central Asia Summit, Zhou Jiali embarked on a journey to Kazakhstan again. To be able to deeply participate in the cooperation between China and Central Asian countries and to participate in the joint construction of the Green Silk Road is the dividend of the times for the coordinated development of individuals and enterprises under the background of global energy low-carbon transformation and the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Zhou Jiali said that as a person who has personally experienced the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, I will try my best to be a good envoy of friendship in the new era and continue to write the beautiful story in the sound of camel bells.Editor/Ma Xue
