On May 28, 2023, the first concrete pouring of the main building of the Anhui Suzhou Qianyingzi Power Plant Phase II Expansion Project, jointly contracted by China Energy Construction Huadong Institute and Anhui Electric Power Construction Second Company, signified the official commencement of the project.

Qianyingzi Power Plant Phase II Expansion Project

It is reported that the second phase expansion project of Qianyingzi Power Plant is jointly funded by Hengyuan Coal Power and Wanneng Co., Ltd., with a planned investment of 4.74 billion yuan. It is planned to construct one 1000MW coal-fired unit. The project adopts the most advanced ultra supercritical secondary reheat technology in the world, with a designed standard coal consumption of 256 grams per kilowatt hour for power generation. The main atmospheric pollution emission concentrations such as smoke, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides are designed and constructed according to the ultra clean emission standards, and is planned to be completed by the end of 2024. After being put into operation, Qianyingzi Power Generation Company has added 5 billion kWh of new electricity generation and 4.775 billion kWh of online electricity, with an annual output value of over 2 billion yuan and a tax contribution of 120 million yuan.

After the completion of the Qianyingzi Power Plant Phase II expansion project, it will effectively supplement the power supply gap in Anhui Province, promote the green and low-carbon transformation of energy, and have positive significance in ensuring the safety and reliability of power supply in the Yangtze River Delta.
