On May 30, 2023, the bidding announcement for the construction of the remaining pre station works of the Nanjing Huai'an intercity railway in sections 03, 04, and 06 was released. Previously, the Huai'an section in Jiangsu and the parallel sections 01, 02, and 05 of the Liuhe West and Shanghai Chongqing Chengdu high-speed railway were officially started in January 2023.

This bidding indicates that the entire Huai'an to Nanjing North section of the Ninghuai high-speed railway is about to start construction. The project is planned to last for 4 years and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The remaining Nanjing Shangyuanmen Cross River Channel project is expected to commence construction within the year.

Project Overview

The newly built Ninghuai intercity railway starts from Huai'an East Station in Huai'an City in the north, passes through Hongze District, Jinhu County, Tianchang City, Anhui Province, and Liuhe District in Nanjing City to New Nanjing North Station. The line length is 196.505km, and the Huai'an East to Huanglou section of the Lianzhen Railway is 17.14km. The new line length is 179.365km, with a Jiangsu section length of 133.893km and an Anhui section length of 45.472km. There are a total of 5 stations including Huai'an East, Hongze, Jinhu, Liuhe West, and New Nanjing North.

Main technical standards: Railway grade: high-speed railway. Number of main lines: double line. Design speed target value: 350 km/h.

Scope of bidding

The scope of this bidding includes bid III, bid IV, and bid VI. The project is located in Tianchang City, Chuzhou, Anhui Province and Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. All bid III is located in Tianchang City, Chuzhou, Anhui Province, while bid IV is located at the southern end of Tianchang City, Anhui Province and the northern end of Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. All bid VI is located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province.

Section division

The total contract bidding for the construction of the remaining pre station works of the new Nanjing Huai'an intercity railway is divided into three sections, as follows:

Station front III bid, section number: NHZQ-03SG bid, section engineering scope: from the provincial boundary of Jiangsu and Anhui to the exit end of Tianchang Station (including the synchronous implementation of station front engineering in Chutianyang, excluding the pre bidding comprehensive maintenance workshop of Tianchang Station), with a section length of 33.881km. Mileage range: DK95+766.416~DK129+647.232.

Station front IV section, section number: NHZQ-04SG section, offline engineering scope: design boundary point for the Eryuan Railway from the station boundary of Tianchang Station to the entrance of Liuhe West Station, with a section length of 33.589km. Mileage range: DK129+647.232~DK163+248.3694=changed to NHDIK163+248.3694.

Among them: Anhui section: DK129+647.232~DK141+247.384, with a double track length of 11.588km. Jiangsu section: DK141+247.384~DK163+248.3694=changed to NHDIK163+248.3694, with a double track length of 22.001km.

Online engineering scope: including the track laying project with a total length of 179.365km (left track connection) from DK19+826.516 to NHDIK199+150 along the entire line.

Station VI section, section number: NHZQ-06SG section, scope of work: NHDIK172+570.367=D1K172+570.367~NHDIK199+150, with a length of 26.580km. Among them: NHDIK172+570.367=D1K172+570.367~D1K196+667.867, with a double track length of 24.098km; D1K196+667.867=NHDIK196+667.867~NHDIK199+150, with a double track length of 2.482km.
