Six years ago today, the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway built by China Road and Bridge Corporation was opened to traffic. As a key project in China-Africa cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative, the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway is a flagship project for Kenya to realize its national development vision by 2030. The project has all adopted Chinese standards, equipment, technology and management, opening a new mode of overseas cooperation for China's entire railway industry chain.

The Mombasa-Nairobi Railway has fully met the needs of The Times in the transformation of China-Africa relations. With the deepening of China-Africa cooperation, China and Africa have increasingly higher requirements for the quality of cooperation.

The statue of Zheng He stands at Mombasa West Station, the starting point of the steel dragon affectionately known as the Independence Express Line, which carries the dream of national renewal of the Kenyan people. The memory of China and Kenya of this pioneer of China-Africa friendship not only shows that the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway is an inheritance and promotion of Zheng He's legacy of China-Africa friendship in the new era, but also indicates that under the guidance of the Belt and Road Initiative, the journey of China-Africa cooperation in the new era paved by the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway will go deeper and further with Zheng He's visit to Africa as a new historical starting point. The in-depth development of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation along the Belt and Road is not only reflected in the development of the location of cooperation from the coast of Africa to the inland, but also reflected in the content of cooperation from technical guidance to spiritual communication, and more reflected in the level of cooperation from mutually beneficial development in the economic field to exchanges and mutual learning in the political field.
