Recently, the construction land for the Wuhe Mengcheng Expressway project has been approved and officially approved, marking the successful completion of the land approval process for the entire project and the imminent entry of the project into the comprehensive construction phase.

The land use work of the Wuhe Mengcheng Expressway project has overcome various difficulties such as updating land type data, changing land use approval policies, and a long approval process. We have made every effort to ensure the smooth progress of the approval process, completing each stage of matters such as survey and demarcation, supplementary planning of basic farmland, signing of land acquisition and demolition agreements, special report argumentation, and improvement of supplementary materials. The total approved area this time is about 634 hectares, and with the approved Mengcheng section, the total approved construction land area is about 733 hectares.

The Wumeng Expressway is an important inter provincial channel connecting Henan, Anhui, and Jiangsu provinces, and an important component of the high-speed road network in the northern Anhui region. It will play an important role in improving the high-speed road network in the northern Anhui region, accelerating the high-quality development of the Huaihe River ecological economic belt, and promoting regional economic revitalization and development. The total length of the Wuhe Mengcheng Expressway project is 119.509 kilometers, with an approved budget of 14.797 billion yuan. It starts in Shuangzhongmiao Town, Wuhe County, runs westward through Guzhen and Huaiyuan, and ends at Banqiaoji Town, Mengcheng County, connecting with the Bomeng Expressway under construction. Four interchanges are planned to be built and opened to traffic by the end of December 2025, including Wubei, Guzhen South, Baoji, and Banqiaoji hubs. Editor/Xie Li
