Harbin Electric Power International Signed a Contract for the Bangladesh Combined Cycle Power Plant Project

On June 5, 2023, Harbin Electric Power International and Bangladesh United Group signed an EP contract for the Anwara 590MW Combined Cycle Power Plant project in the capital of Bangladesh, Dhaka. Li Chao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Harbin Electric International, and Monuddin Rashid, Chairman of Bangladesh United Group, signed on behalf of both parties.

The Anwara 590MW combined cycle power plant project uses Siemens H-class gas turbines, arranged in a single shaft, one trailer, located in the Anwara area of Chittagong City, Bangladesh, on the south bank of the Kanapuri River. The owner, Bangladesh United Group, is a large private enterprise in the local area, mainly engaged in businesses such as electricity, real estate, healthcare, retail, and textiles. The Anwara project is the first collaboration between Harbin Electric Power International and Bangladesh United Group, and it is also the first power station contracting project for Harbin Electric Power International to successfully enter the private power sector of the Bangladesh market. After the completion of the project, it will further alleviate the pressure of electricity shortage in Bangladesh and promote the development of electricity in Bangladesh.
