The TN project, located in the wind-rich northeastern Brazilian state of Bahia, will begin construction in 2021 with a total installed capacity of 180 MW. The project is equipped with 40 typhoon turbine units, all using Chinese domestic wind turbine equipment, which is one of the largest blade wind turbines in South America.
After the project is put into operation, it is expected to generate 720 million KWH of electricity per year, which can meet the annual electricity consumption of 430,000 Brazilian households. The environmental benefits of clean energy are equivalent to reducing coal consumption by 210,000 tons and reducing emissions by 650,000 tons per year, and the emission reduction benefits are equivalent to planting 0.1,800 hectares of forest, which will effectively help the economic development of northeast Brazil and accelerate its energy transformation.
China and Brazil have great potential for cooperation in the field of new energy. China is the world's largest investor in clean energy and the largest manufacturer of equipment. Brazil's resource advantages in the field of new energy are among the best in the world, and the two countries should strengthen cooperation in green economy and low-carbon transition and give full play to their respective advantages.
