On June 6th, in response to the progress issue of the feasibility study report approval for the Yanyu high-speed railway, the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission replied:

The Yanyu high-speed railway is a project that has been confirmed by the state and our province to commence construction within the year. From May 21st to 22nd, China Railway Group organized a feasibility study report review, and the plan has been basically determined. Currently, it has entered the stage of feasibility study report approval, and the specific approval is being accelerated under the leadership of China Railway Group

Project Overview:

The Yanyu high-speed railway is an important component of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway channel, including the Baohai Channel. It is also an important project for the "rice shaped" high-speed railway network in Shaanxi Province and the high-speed railway connecting cities and cities.

The line starts from Yan'an Station, connects with the west extension high-speed railway under construction, passes through Baota District, Yanchuan County, Qingjian County, Suide County, Mizhi County, Hengshan District and Yuyang District of Yan'an City, and ends at the new Yulin South Station.

After the completion of the project, the running time of the railway from Xi'an to Yulin will be shortened from the current maximum of 4.5 hours to about 2.5 hours.

The new line is 238.758km long, including 78.7km in Yan'an City and 160.058km in Yulin City. The target speed is 350 kilometers per hour, with an estimated total investment of approximately 39 billion yuan and a planned construction period of 4.5 years.

There are 7 stations along the entire line, including Yan'an, Yan'an New Area, Yanchuan, Qingjian North, Suide West, Mizhi North, and Yulin South. Among them, Yan'an Station is included in the construction of the West Extension High Speed Railway, while the northern end of Suide West Station reserves the conditions for connecting with the Taisui (Qingtaiyin) High Speed Railway, and Yulin South Station reserves the conditions for extending to Baotou in the long term.
