On June 6, 2023, SP Group Energy Group, the leading energy utility group and low-carbon new energy investment and service provider in the Asia Pacific region of Shanghai, China, announced that it would invest in the construction of a large-scale green energy power station integrating photovoltaic power generation and agricultural planting in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. The construction site of the project is located in Dabu County, Meizhou City, with a total installed capacity of 78 MWp. It is estimated that the full grid connection will be completed in 7 months, and the pollution-free and zero emission green power will benefit local farmers, enterprises and people.

Project Overview

Meizhou Dapu Agricultural Hybrid Photovoltaic Power Generation Project is one of the first batch of ground centralized photovoltaic power station projects invested by SP Group Group in China. It is estimated that the total power generation in the next 25 years will be 2.282 billion kilowatt hours, which can save 748400 tons of standard coal, reduce 2.277 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, reduce 68400 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, and reduce 34000 tons of nitrogen oxide emissions.

After the completion of the project, it will not only help boost the construction of modern and efficient agriculture in Dapu District, Meizhou, and achieve high-quality development of green Low-carbon economy, but also be expected to become a demonstration project for photovoltaic power generation and new energy investment in the Pearl River Delta. The Meizhou Dapu hybrid photovoltaic power generation project is also equipped with a 7.8 MWh energy storage system, which is continuously optimized through the digital energy management system, comprehensively demonstrating SP Group Group's rich experience in the overall new energy solution capability and technical advantages in operation management.
