On the morning of June 2, 2023, the signing ceremony of the cooperation framework agreement between the People's Government of Xinxing County and the hydropower branch of Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. was held to jointly promote the development and construction of Pinghe pumped storage power station project.

Pinghe pumped storage Power Station project has a planned installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts, with a total investment of about 8 billion yuan. It is a large project with strong green environmental protection and driving effect. After completion, it can improve the peak load capacity of Guangdong power system, improve the quality of power supply, maintain energy security, effectively improve the power supply structure of Xinxing and even Yunfu region, and improve the comprehensive utilization level of water resources in Xinxing County. Drive the sustainable development of industry, eco-tourism and related industries in Xinxing County, and provide strong support for the acceleration of green development in new China. According to preliminary estimates, the project can increase the local tax revenue by more than 100 million yuan per year after completion and operation.

The hydropower branch of Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. said that it will further accelerate the preliminary work of the project and fully promote the implementation of the project construction.
