On June 7, 2023, China's first large impact turbine with a single unit capacity and maximum power of 150 megawatts was officially put into operation at the Tianwan River Jinwo Hydropower Station of Sichuan Investment Corporation. At 10 a.m., the newly installed hydroelectric unit successfully connected to the grid and generated its first kilowatt hour of electricity. This marks substantial application results in the localization of key core technologies for China's high head and large capacity impulse hydropower units, and will accumulate valuable experience for the operation and maintenance of similar units in China. The mission is glorious and of great significance.

Located in the Tianwan River basin of Shimian County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, Sichuan Investment Tianwan River Jinwo Hydropower Station is the largest single unit capacity in China and the second largest impact hydropower unit in Asia invested, constructed and operated by Sichuan Investment Group. For a long time, due to factors such as materials and processes, the core components of the large impact turbine used in the Jinwo Hydropower Station, such as the runner, have relied on imports for a long time, resulting in high costs and time, leading to neck problems. Based on this, Sichuan Investment Group has sought various solutions to solve the problem.

In May 2021, Dongfang Electric, a central enterprise in Sichuan Province, as a leader in energy equipment, signed a cooperation agreement with Sichuan Provincial State owned Enterprise Sichuan Investment Group on the localization research of bucket type runners for cascade power stations in the Tianwan River Basin, Sichuan Province, to jointly open a new model of central local cooperation and upstream and downstream cooperation in science and technology in the industrial chain. Tianwanhe Company, a subsidiary of Sichuan Investment Group, and Dongfang Electric Corporation, a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric, transferred backbone forces from all sides and formed a party member team to tackle key problems. Tianwanhe Company shared operating data and important parameters for many years and provided trial operation conditions. Dongfang Electric Corporation gave full play to its technical advantages and worked closely to tackle key problems... After more than two years of unremitting efforts, on May 16, 2023, China's first large-scale impact runner with a maximum capacity of 150 megawatts per unit was successfully launched in Dongfang Electric Corporation, We have achieved a historic breakthrough in the localization of key core technologies for China's high head and large capacity impulse hydroelectric units from scratch. 20 days later, the largest single unit impulse hydroelectric unit in China, which was replaced with China Heart, successfully generated its first electricity at the Tianwan River of Sichuan Investment Corporation. This marks that China has achieved comprehensive autonomy in the design, manufacturing, and operation of large impact turbines.

At present, Sichuan Investment Group is actively building a 10 million Kilopower energy industry.
